In Revelation 16 the seven golden bowls of plagues are poured out in rapid succession.  As terrible and frightening as they are, the angels of verse 5 and verse 7 proclaim that God's justice is righteous, for it comes against those who have shed the blood of the saints and prophets. The judgments now poured out will pave the way for the return of Jesus in chapter 19.  In chapters 17 and 18 we will be given specific details in the fall of Babylon, this evil and corrupt world system that has entangled itself into the affairs of the global community. The saints in heaven will rejoice in this victory of Christ over Babylon.  It will inspire in us the hope of glory in Jesus Christ.  No matter what we face in this life we are assured of the triumph of Christ over our enemies.
