Listen "What is Europe? Where is Europe?"

Episode Synopsis

Contributor(s): Professor Lord Wallace | Article 233 of the Treaty of Rome declared that 'any European state may apply to join the European Economic Community'. Nevertheless, politicians and publics in the 'old' Western Europe still see their region as the core of Europe, and worry about further enlargement of both the EU and NATO. So where does 'Europe' stop? Are there boundaries to future enlargement?
