Episode Synopsis

An Encore from November 4th, 2021You’ve got a lot riding on your tires. When do you need new ones? How often do you need to rotate them? How do you rotate them? Can you rotate them? These are my questions – what are yours?Recalls: Every recall is serious, so it’s important that you contact an authorized service center or your local dealer as soon as possible. Automakers issue recalls to fix defects, or sometimes just to check for them. Every owner of a recalled model will be contacted by mail to bring their car to an authorized service center or dealer for evaluation. Any defective parts will be replaced at no cost to the car owner.Every recall is registered with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. NHTSA is also often responsible for requesting a recall after investigating common safety problems or receiving complaints from owners, however, these don’t always lead to car recalls. You can find out if your car has a past recall by going to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s website: https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls and inputting your VIN number. Or find their SaferCar app.In the news: Last week Hertz announce that they had ordered 100 thousand Teslas by the end of 2022. This week CEO Elon Musk tweeted that they hadn’t signed a contract for the vehicles.
