Listen "Austin area's rainy season slow to kick in this fall, but soaking could come this week"

Episode Synopsis

Rain has been rare this fall, but the Austin area could finally get a decent soaking this week, according to the National Weather Service. A low pressure system — where lower air pressure allows warmer air to rise and rain clouds to form in the unstable air — will move into Texas from the northwest Tuesday into Wednesday. The remnant of the soon-to-be Hurricane Pamela off the western coast of Mexico also could be influential toward the end of the week as it moves northeast into South Texas. However, the weather computer models disagree on likely rainfall amounts, with some models calling for heavier rain if Pamela turns out to be stronger than expected, forecasters said.
