Has the electricity gone out in your home and. you stumble about looking for a candle? Ever been in a cave when the flashlight turns off? It takes a little spark from a match to light a candle, and that begins to push away the darkness until the daylight comes. The Apostle Peter has been encouraging believer in the early church on how to live. Now in his letter, he wants them to trust the written Scriptures, the prophets and the knowledge of Jesus, and next will warn against false teachers. Trusting in the prophecies of Scripture gives a glimmer, a hope, shinning the light of the Messiah. Interim Pastor Thomas Smoak continues to look at 2 Peter and brings out three ways that explain the light of Christ in the prophets, and gives us hope about His second return which will extinguish the darkness of sin forever.
