Listen "Play to Win Instead of Playing Not to Lose"
Episode Synopsis
Let me fill you in on an ugly secret about the universe - For some crazy reason, it seems to have a sense of humor. Part of its humor is that when people "get ahead", such as in a big game, an investment, or self-improvement goal, oftentimes we shift from what was working and got us ahead in the first place into a more "defensive" mindset.
It's easy for us to flip when ahead and play "not to lose", instead of continuing to "play to win" which got us ahead in the first place. Unfortunately it's a shift in mindset that curses more often than it helps, and has snatched many defeats from the jaws of victory. Such a subtle yet powerful mindset shift brings about important awareness tactics, and since it's about winning and mindsets, it's a perfect topic for Jonathan Pishner and I to talk about on today's "Asymmetric Habits"!
