Welcome to this week’s reading from the Torah and the haftarah. A fundamental understanding of anyone who applies the teachings of the Assembly of Yahweh Natzraya is that all believers belong to one flock, led by one shepherd. This is what Yehoshua Messiah said in echoing the statements and examples of His Father, Yahweh. In the readings for this week, I shall show how Jacob’s going to Egypt to be united with Joseph and the prophesied uniting of the tribes of Israel in the book of Ezekiel from the haftarah passage is another method that teaches believers that when Messiah returns to the earth to reign for one thousand years, believers both living and asleep (believers do not actually die, believers only sleep) will become one flock in his presence. As the emissary recorded for our learning - Brothers, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you will not grieve like the rest, who are without hope. For since we believe that Yehoshua died and rose again, we also believe that the Mighty One will bring with Yehoshua those who have fallen asleep in Him. By the word of the master, we declare to you that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the master will by no means precede those who have fallen asleep. For the master Himself will descend from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of a chief messenger, and with the trumpet of the Mighty One, and the dead in Messiah will be the first to rise. After that, we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the master in the air. And so we will always be with the master. Therefore encourage one another with these words (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).
