Through the covenant of marriage, God has ordained that His two image bearers, husband and wife, paint a portrait to the world of the everlasting covenant that Christ has made with His church. Marriage was meant to be a beautiful picture of the relationship between Christ and His redeemed people. In these verses, Paul exhorts the wife to be and play the part that she was designed to play. Scripture is clear that the wife's greatest inspiration is her desire to please Christ and walk faithfully with Him.
