The SAVE Act (Safeguarding American Voters' Eligibility Act) has now passed the Republican-controlled, US House and will lilkely not get through the Democratic-controlled US Senate. Basically, the law would require states to both purge non-citizens from voter registrations and get proof of US citizenship when registering voters.
Almost 200 Democrats in the House voted against the bill and President Biden already announced that he will veto it should it pass the Senate, which is unlikely. In this discussion, Tea Party Patriots Action co-founder Jenny Beth Martin explains why her organization supports the proposal.
