Nieves v. Bartlett was argued before the Supreme Court of the United States on November 26th, 2018. The opinion of the Court was released on May 28th, 2019 and can be found here. The Court ruled in favor of Sergeant Nieves in a 6-3 vote. Chief Justice Roberts wrote the opinion of the Court, in which Justices Breyer, Alito, Kavanaugh, and Kagan joined. Justice Thomas wrote an opinion concurring in part and concurring in judgment. Justice Gorsuch wrote an opinion concurring in part and dissenting in part.
