Low income households are losing access to utility services like electricity, heating, and cooling every day. And this issue, known as energy insecurity, is getting worse as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

A recent nationwide study shows an estimated 3.8 million Americans could be facing energy insecurity. Many families are left with the choice of sacrificing other expenses like food in order to pay for their utility bills.

Today we talk to someone behind that study about what it reveals, and an advocate for low income households facing energy insecurity in Indiana.
