Episode Synopsis
Please view the video entitled “Keep My Commandments Summarized” before viewing this teaching: https://youtu.be/k7fUP105dLM?si=hnQbSUUg3t5JUYgVThe Flesh (Sarx), Fear, and the Futility of Human StrengthIn this continuation of the series on the Greek word **sarx** ("flesh"), the speaker examines how the flesh manifests itself through fear and its corresponding external conflict. The message argues that our internal fears are the source of our external conflicts with others, and that the root of our anger and competitive nature is a lack of rest in the flesh. The video draws a powerful distinction between the futile strength of man and the true power that comes from God, emphasizing that our attempts to control others are doomed to fail. It also critiques the field of psychology for leaving out any talk of God and the spiritual nature of man in its theories.* The flesh has no rest, leading to conflicts without and fears within.* Our anger and competition with others are driven by the fear that the "self" has, as it knows it has no real power.* We have very limited power over other people's wills and thoughts, and our attempts to manipulate or control them are futile.* The law of "sewing and reaping" from the Creation Covenant is still in effect: if you sow to the flesh, you will reap corruption.* God defines a humble person as someone who waits on Him and allows Him to bring about real change in their life.* The way to deal with enemies and conflict is not with your own strength, but through prayer.* We often identify with the flesh by boasting in the achievements of others, like a sports team, as a way of saying "we're number one."* The majority of psychological study is not science, as it leaves out God, the spirit, and the flesh. The video concludes by asserting that God comforts the humble and that the way to see real change in ourselves and in others is not through our own fleshly strength but by waiting on God. The ultimate takeaway is that we were created for a personal, faith-based relationship with God, where we understand that we have a responsibility to live for Him and that this reliance is what allows us to overcome the weakness of the flesh. It is only when we are filled with God that we can truly live the life that He intended for us.#Sarx #TheFlesh #BiblicalTruth #DrMichaelDavis #Theology #FearAndAnger #SpiritualWarfare #HumilitySarx...
