This deals with another poem I wrote years ago when it finally began to dawn on me that faith in Christ wasn’t always about following rules. When I wrote this poem, it really hit me to home—it’s a reflection on what it really means to give. Many of us feel generous because we drop some coins in a bucket or send a small donation during the holidays. And yes, giving money is good. Supporting causes and our churches financially is biblical and worthwhile. But this powerful poem challenges us to go deeper.
