Episode Synopsis

Send us a textDoves Creek- Sunday, March 12Joshua prepared the people by telling them to "consecrate" themselves for the Lord who was going to do amazing things among them. Consecration is more than occasional church attendance, tithing, or reading "Our Daily Bread." As the utensils used in the temple were considered “consecrated," we too (and every aspect of our lives) are to be set apart for the exclusive use of God. We are de-throned, He is enthroned. Consecration brings us into a place of wholeness as we begin to consecrate every area of our lives, begin rebuilding the wall, sealing up the breaches (Neh. 6), leaving no place of entry for the enemy (John 14:30, Rom. 13:14) to gain a foothold. We want to be repairers of the breach (Isa. 58), and get rid of everything the Father says to rid ourselves of-- wrong thinking, habitual sin, generational issues, etc. Because if we don't, what we don't kill will eventually kill us and generations behind us. We see this in the story of Saul who was to utterly destroy the Amalekites yet, obviously, left some alive. We see them later raiding and stealing away family in Ziklag (1 Sam. 30) amongst other occurrences. There's a reason we are to be consecrated, there is a reason we are to repair the breaches, there is a reason we are to follow Him in obedience. Your relationship with God is not just between you and God, but is between you, God, those who come after you, generations, and those you are called to reach. Seal the breaches!“Revelation is the first step to holiness, and consecration is the second. A day must come in our lives, as definite as the day of our conversion, when we give up all right to ourselves and submit to the absolute Lordship of Jesus Christ.” -Watchman Nee“Partial obedience is complete disobedience…” - MaclarenWhat you don’t kill (put to death/Col. 3) will eventually kill you and generations after you…
