Listen "Your Pelvic Floor Post-Babies with Julie Demers"
Episode Synopsis
Julie Demers is a physical therapist trained in Canada and a pelvic floor specialist. She’s working to break down the taboos we have in the U.S. about talking about pelvic floor issues and incontinence. With too many of our health issues, we brush them aside as if they’re just what happens when you get older or when you have a baby. I’d like to submit that many of the symptoms we experience, though completely common, are not intended to be the “norm.” Some examples might be acne, headaches, backaches, sleep issues, and even pelvic floor issues after you have a baby. This has become one of those “norms” that we think of as the cost of having babies, but in reality, incontinence issues are linked to a lack of repairing muscles and tissues after a baby. The good news is, it’s never too late and you can make lasting improvements naturally.
