Listen "#17 - The Runner’s Identity"
Episode Synopsis
Having a strong identity as a runner, in and of itself, isn’t a negative trait. In fact, it‘s an advantage when we are healthy and running well because being all in on achieving our goals can propel us toward being our best.
However the pitfall comes when we allow our sense of purpose to fully hinge on our success, or lack thereof, as a runner. By not holding our passion for running with a well-rounded sense of purpose, spanning all aspects of our entire being can bring mental challenges, during CV19, injuries, a race that didn’t go to plan etc.
In this conversation, with Psychotherapist Vida Weinstein, we explore the ideas behind the runners identity, and give advice of how runner’s can positively deal with the challenges faced during CV19.
