Listen "26: Katie Bergman - When Justice Just Is"
Episode Synopsis
Send us a textIn this episode I have the privilege of speaking with Katie Bergman a writer and social justice advocate who is very curious about the interplay between inner wellbeing and social change. Katie has devoted the last 10 years of her career to the non-profit sector, specializing in human trafficking interventions. She has worked with teams around the world, contributing to projects such as preventing labour exploitation among migrant workers in rural Cambodia, supporting a home for survivors of human trafficking in the US, and protecting at-risk girls from abuse in Bulgaria. A few years into her non-profit career, Katie began to recognize how individual, systemic, and societal factors can adversely impact the mental health and wellbeing of people in helping roles. After her own experience of trauma and burnout at the frontlines, Katie published her first book, When Justice Just Is, to open up a conversation about how caring for the world requires us to care for ourselves.Website: https://www.whenjusticejustis.com/
