John Burroughs served twenty-seven years in the United States Air Force, both on active duty and in the Reserve, as a law enforcement flight chief, supervisor, patrolman and a K-9 handler. His many deployments include Operation Iraqi Freedom and he has provided security for the president of the United States. He is one of the co-authors of Encounter in Rendlesham Forest along with Nick Pope and Jim Penniston.John might be the first and only former military member to receive VA compensation for injuries sustained during a UFO encounter.
