In this episode of 8-bit Monsters' Monster Deconstruction for D&D 5e we look over the Giant Rat and touch on the variant a little bit. Going through the giant rat, we'll discuss some skills & traits it has and move on to all of the usual stuff. Better sound as the last episode but still a little stiff in terms of nerves. The episodes get better and smoother as I get more comfortable recording. Speaking of, this episode was recorded back in September of 2020.

The idea of this podcast is to break monsters down into their bare components: DCR & OCR. These two values will allow us to see how strong they are and to see where D&D got the CR values from. I'm doing this because all too often, players skip right to level 3 to avoid the hell levels and possibly end up dead. Generally, each monster is a balancing act that isn't equal to the final value.
