From an overweight, middle age man, to losing 60kg and running an Ultra Marathon within 9 months. Disclaimer; I decided to pursue weight loss surgery to give me that head start. However, the surgery is but one tool in the journey. I wasn't aiming to just lose weight but also get fit. Fast forward 18 months post surgery, I have gone from 152kg down to 83kg, brought my 5k PB from 38 minutes to 21 minutes, completed multiple Half Marathons with a PB of 1 hour and 45 minutes, completed 3 Marathons in 12 months with a 4 hour 15 minute PB, completed a 55km Ultra marathon and ran over 3500kms in 18 months and now own countless pairs of runners.... If you want to start a running/weight loss journey and don't know where to start, I am definitely no coach, but have real first hand experience on how to start and what to expect.
