Matthew 10:37-39 and also Luke 14:26-27; 1 Timothy 5:8;Wrongly or Incompletely understand they can cause unnecessary angst. They need the help of other passages with a similar theme. In these passages we are studying how to be a disciple and Jesus in regard to our loved ones. Are the above passages calling us to abandon and not care for our loved ones in our sacrificial service to Christ? My short answer is no!
