13They are violent waves of the sea, churning their own shame into foam, and stars that have strayed from their course, for whom the blackest darkness has been kept forever. 14It was Enoch—the seventh in line from Adam—who prophesied about these very people, saying, “Look, the Lord is coming with countless thousands of his holy ones, 15to carry out judgment on everyone, and to convict every soul of all the ungodly deeds they have done in their godlessness, and of all the defiant words ungodly sinners have hurled against him.” 16These people are grumblers and complainers, indulging their own desires. They speak with arrogance, flattering others to gain advantage. 17But you, dear friends—call to mind what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ told you beforehand.
