Procrastination: Do You Know Your Enemy?

Procrastination is the behavior responsible for limiting us, robbing us of the opportunity to achieve and build everything we desire.

For an enriched definition to serve as a starting point to learn more about procrastination, we turned to clinical psychologist and psychotherapist Mónica Alegre, who from Panama kindly elaborated for us:

Procrastination is the phenomenon of postponing what we must do (obligations and responsibilities) in favor of more pleasant and often unproductive activities. The reasons why some people tend to procrastinate can vary widely. The abundance of distracting stimuli can make it easier to stray from fulfilling our obligations, but it is not a cause in itself. If that were the case, we would not be able to stay focused during a movie marathon either. The underlying problem is one of priorities and focus; of understanding how a given task is linked to our long-term goals. We are becoming accustomed to immediate gratification, perhaps trusting that -there will be time- to do everything else. Dr. Mónica Alegre

How to fight procrastination?

At ZARZA we work every day improving the productivity of the ventures and clients who allow us to enrich their processes, and it is this situation that drove us to tell the story of procrastination, as we have done with other terms such as pronoia; and this time we wanted to share some of the tips that help us fight procrastination.

Now you know it; next, seek to understand it…

Getting to know ourselves is a process of adventure; often we want to achieve our A+ motivations, but we say we lack the time, or that the day is not long enough to do what we want. Once we are aware that procrastination is what separates us from what we desire, we are more capable of stopping ourselves. Ultimately, we must invest our time in whatever yields us the greatest returns…

Stop yourself when procrastinating!

Procrastination only happens if you allow it

Feel when you start procrastinating… Recognize what happens when you begin an entertainment or leisure activity… That activity that leads to nothing productive. At that moment you must repeat to yourself “This is me procrastinating… I must stop.”. And consequently pour your efforts into activities that bring you closer to your goals.

What is your main asset?

The main asset of all human beings is time. Whatever we invest our efforts in is where we will see our results. It is crucial to start with a project that allows you to generate passive income, securing the opportunity to showcase your potential and grow hand in hand with the Internet.

From ZARZA we invite you to join our select client portfolio, where, backed by our more than 150 Engineers stationed around the world, we urge you to use the Internet not to procrastinate, but to expand your portfolio of possibilities with a successful web project.
