The M Compilation series is a various artists project we launched around the time of Movement Festival in Detroit. The first release, M1, came out in 2015, with additional editions appearing over the years, usually timed for release in May around the festival. Previous compilations have featured artists such as Luis Flores, Takaaki Itoh, Annie Hall, Truncate, Lindsey Herbert, Drumcell, and others.

For Blank Code, Movement has always felt like a label family reunion. We have been hosting events during the festival since its second year, when it was still called the Detroit Electronic Music Festival, or DEMF. Over the years it has become a moment when friends, artists, and collaborators from around the world come together in Detroit. The M Compilation series was created as a way to bring those artists together on a shared project that reflects the spirit of that weekend and the community that forms around it each year.
