Woe to them! They have followed the path of Cain, rushed headlong into Balaam’s error for profit, and destroyed themselves in Korah’s rebellion.
In context
9But when the archangel Michael, disputing with the devil, argued over the body of Moses, he did not dare bring a slanderous accusation against the devil. Instead he said, “The Lord rebuke you.” 10But these people slander what they do not understand, and the very things they do grasp by instinct—like unreasoning animals—are exactly what destroy them. 11Woe to them! They have followed the path of Cain, rushed headlong into Balaam’s error for profit, and destroyed themselves in Korah’s rebellion. 12These are the hidden reefs at your love feasts, feasting alongside you without any shame, looking after only themselves. They are clouds without a drop of rain, blown along by the wind; trees in late autumn, fruitless, twice dead, uprooted. 13They are violent waves of the sea, churning their own shame into foam, and stars that have strayed from their course, for whom the blackest darkness has been kept forever.
