We write this so that our joy may be complete.
In context
2and the life was revealed. We have seen it, and we testify and declare to you this eternal life, which was with the Father and was revealed to us— 3what we have seen and heard, we declare to you also, so that you too may share with us in this fellowship. And this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. 4We write this so that our joy may be complete. 5This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all. 6If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we are lying, and we do not practice the truth.
