Bell County, Texas is a rapidly growing part of Central Texas just north of the burgeoning Austin metro area with more than 375,000 people. It’s the home of Baylor Scott & White healthcare facilities as well as Fort Hood. For the first time in three decades, the position of county chair of the Republican Party is up for grabs and two candidates are running for the job – Jeffery Ware and Mack Latimer. We thought it would be instructive to see how potential party chairmen will help keep Texas red.
