Consistent obedience.

Achan was a part of those who God used to overcome Jericho (Joshua 6:16) . Achan was also the man who took of the accursed items God told him not to take (Joshua 6:18). Achan obeyed the voice of God through his leader Joshua, when God told them not to talk or not to make any noise as they were walking around Jericho for seven days. They weren’t allowed to make a single sound with their voice. He obeyed in that area. But in the same passage, Achan had more instruction on what not to do, and he disobeyed. God ended up killing Achan and his family and all that he had (7:24), because he disobeyed.
