Deciphering The Arrows

Not every arrow is an attack. Some arrows are instructions.

In this message from our Better Together series, Pastor James Epperly teaches from the story of David and Jonathan in 1 Samuel 20. David had been anointed by God, but he still needed Jonathan to help him discern the season he was in.

When Jonathan shot the arrows into the field, they were more than a signal — they were a message. They warned David, redirected him, protected him, and prepared him for what God had ahead.

There are seasons in life when we need godly people to help us understand what God is saying. Is this rejection or redirection? Is this opposition or protection? Is this a delay, a warning, or a transition?

You cannot always decipher the arrows alone.
