Colin Chapman is one of the most controversial figures in Formula 1. On the one hand, he was an engineering genius and visionary, who created team Lotus. Under Chapman’s leadership, Lotus achieved 7 Constructor F1 Championship wins and produced 6 driver World Champions. On the other hand, his desire to win at all cost putting lives at risk, as well as other scandals, often backfired and led to unanticipated and often tragic consequences.
