As part of #TBT2020 "Bubble Week", Charge and Haner discuss the TBT in a SHARED episode with both the GM of D2:Unheralded, Grant Leonard AND the GM of We Are D3, Michael Rejniak.
Just above the already cut teams, but below the safe teams, life on the TBT bubble is stressful. It is so tight that We Are D3 was cut hours before taping. To his credit, Michael honored the booking and came on to chat TBT and the thrill of getting D3 all stars to prove they belong with their D1 brethren.
On the other side of the coin, D2:Unheralded is still very much alive at taping, with a slim but real chance of breaking into the field of 24. Coming off a 2019 run that included the destruction of the Kentucky Alum TBT, the Bluegrass Boys, in 2019, you can bet the rest of the field is hoping the D2 bubble gets popped just to avoid this battle tested squad.
The NCAA always says a lot of the lower division players often "Go Pro in Something Other than Sports", but D2/D3 have a history putting their D1 alumni teams through hell for a full four quarters.
Gutty, grinding, and with nothing to lose, can the D2 players win the $2M? Can We Are D3 get a head start on their #TBT2021 run?
