Her leadership, scholarship, and activismhave focused on advancing social and economic justice formarginalized individuals, families and communities. Herclinical expertise is in mental health, trauma/resilience andaddiction/recovery. She lives, works, and writes at theintersection of multiple identities, including place, ethnicity, race, genders, andsexualities, consistently applying an intersectional feminist lens to all her endeavors.Marta is the former Commissioner of Social Services for the Department of CommunityBased Services for the state of KY. She brings over 45 years of expertise inorganizational and clinical social work practice. Throughout her distinguished career,she has excelled in various roles including tenured professor, department chair, socialresearcher, executive leader, fund development professional, psychotherapist,entrepreneur, community organizer, advocate, activist, coach, trainer, facilitator, andpublic speaker.Support the show
