Listen "Author Spotlight: Chelsea Flewellen"
Episode Synopsis
Join me as I chat with author Chelsea Flewellen about her debut novel, Lythreal, which is available now on amazon!
Lythreal Blurb:
“You are not alone” I’ve waited my whole life to hear those words...
Emma Jean is merely surviving life as a senior in high school. Amarillo, Texas is a town full of big hair and beauty pageants, which isn’t really Emma Jean’s style. She puts on a brave face, but behind closed doors at home she endures ridicule and emotional abuse. When her mom’s desperate need to control her goes too far, Emma Jean packs up everything and runs away. A portal opens up, pulling her into a new realm with magic. In the land of Thrystle, the king despises newcomers and will do everything in his power to get rid of her—even death. With the help of new and unexpected friends, she fights to claim her place in a world she’s grown to love. Can she become the brave girl she truly wants to be, or will fear get in her way?
Author Bio:
Chelsea Flewellen was born and raised in Arizona, but now calls Idaho home. She enjoys the fine arts, and was involved in choir and dance growing up. She attended beauty school, and shortly after received her cosmetology license. She married her husband, Cameron, in 2011. Her husband joined the Navy two years later, and they were stationed in South Carolina and Washington State during his six year service. Once her husband was honorably discharged from the Navy, they moved to Idaho. Chelsea is also a mom to four wonderful children that help her view the world in a better light. She supports and advocates for her autistic son, to share what she's learned, and acceptance of autism. During football season, you can find her and her family cheering on the Green Bay Packers. In her spare time, Chelsea loves to crochet, bake, and spend quality time with her husband and kids. She enjoys game nights with friends and a delicious tray of warm fudgy brownies with a scoop of ice cream. Chelsea has always enjoyed storytelling and has found deep connections with others through it. She found herself drawn to fantasy books because they opened a new world with infinite possibilities—and believed in the impossible. Since childhood, Chelsea has been infatuated with magic systems and solving the puzzles of a good mystery. She hopes to share that same love and passion with her books.
