Sam is resolved to take advantage of the circumstance and finish off Patsy's renowned pizza. However, she soon finds herself in a completely new battle for her life as extraterrestrials attack the globe and kidnap everyone who dared to raise a sound. She chooses to take a big chance in order to grab that piece of pie, realizing that her borrowed time is even shorter and suffering from the absence of painkillers. Sam and Frodo encounter Eric, a British law student who is on the verge of a full-blown panic episode, along the route. She protests at first, but he pursues her with his great golden retriever vigor. In the end, their genuine relationship is forged primarily by their acts, gestures, and looks.
