Listen "Early Detection, Lasting Hope: One Survivor's Mission to Save Lives with Kiersten Smith"

Episode Synopsis

"I was the only one who survived. Because of that... it's made me incredibly passionate to speaking about early detection and practical ways that we can protect these women in our community." — Kiersten Smith

Breast cancer survivor Kiersten Smith joins host Quincee Messersmith to share the deeply personal story that led her to launch the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk in Wakulla County, FL. Diagnosed at 34 at the earliest possible stage, Kiersten was one of three young women in her county to receive the news—but the only one who survived. Her mission is now simple and profound: to create an event that is not only educational about early detection but also a source of encouragement, fun, and vital support for women at every stage of their cancer journey. Listen for details on this year's third annual walk at Azalea Park.

Interview recorded Oct. 6, 2025.
