John is on the island of Patmos for his faith, he has endured great suffering and persecution for the gospel of Jesus Christ. He writes “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet saying “Write in a book what you see.” What John was about to witness is the revelation of Jesus Christ, the things which are and the things which are still to come.
