A recent clip on Twitter/X from John Piper caused controversy in the Reformed world as he preached the threat of falling away from Hebrews 3. Dr. Sean Cole interacts with one of his heroes of the faith and critiques this confusing message. There were some good things in Piper's message, but more confusion. John Piper holds to a non-Reformed view of making a distinction between initial justification by faith alone and final salvation by works or fruit. How does this confusing theology cause anxiety in true believers? Is this good news that gives assurance of salvation. John Piper has had a tremendous influence on Sean over the years and he has benefited from Desiring God and Piper's ministry.  One can be impacted by a preacher who, at the same time, holds some faulty views.
