In episode 115 of the TigerTalk podcast presented by Northeast Mississippi Community College, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes Northeast president Dr. Ricky G. Ford to the podcast as Kollmeyer and Ford sit down to discuss what is happening at the college. In this week's update, Dr. Ford updates listeners on how the campus is proceeding toward opening up on July 1 and what all is being done to welcome students back to campus on Monday, August 3. In addition, Ford talks about a new addition to campus - a dropbox on the west side of the Ramsey Student Services Building for those needing to drop off items after business hours or if they do not feel comfortable coming into the building. Ford also gives an update on the budget for the 2020-2021 school year and signals that it is not as bad as forecasted. Officials were looking at nearly a double-digit decrease in the budget but right now, the budget was only decreased by 3-3.5 percent. Ford ends this week with his Black Lives Matter statement that went live on social media late last week.
