In this episode, Emrah Altindis joins us to discuss his excellent publication, Parabacteroides distasonis insulin B:9-23 epitope mimic stimulates insulin specific T-cells and enhances type 1 diabetes in NOD mice. The main goal of Dr. Altindis' lab is to better understand the role of microbial mimicry mechanisms in human diseases and characterize these microbial proteins.
