THPS2 was a critical and commercial success when it released in 2000, and it resonated with gamers and skaters alike. This time Devon is joined by Matt Carr (Pop Pop Vernac, These Estates, Failed States, Psst Shh) and Kurtis Rothecker (Pop Pop Vernac, Dream Creaps, Darkslide) as they ride down the smooth pavement of memory lane. They talk about how THPS2 did all the right things to expand on the original game, and they note the ways in which it blazed its own trail. As a skater kid, Kurtis points out some of the ways that the game won over skaters, and the group talks about how bringing in some hip hop flavour helped to reflect the broadening of skate culture that was happening at the time.
