Listen "#33. How to manage fatigue without deloading"
Episode Synopsis
Do you always need to de-load to manage fatigue?Sometimes the answer is no. A de-load (planned period of reduction in training volume, frequency, intensity or load) isn't always going to be the most effective, or sustainable option if your fatigue is being caused by other factors.Everything from lifestyle factors to poor program design can contribute to fatigue if they have a negative impact on our energy levels and our ability to recover. In this episode I run through different factors that you can consider in helping to manage fatigue without always resorting to a de-load.Disclaimer: I'm not saying that de-loads aren't warranted. Effective program design is likely going to see a de-load planned or pencilled in at various time points. However, if you are finding yourself regularly fatigued, or feeling as though you need another de-load only a couple of weeks after a previous de-load, then it's important to consider what other factors may be contributing to your fatigue and ensure effective management systems for these are in place.Follow me on Instagram at @jemmalee_exphys to stay up to date with each episode as well as all of my regular content.Music from Uppbeat: Disco Wheel | Mood MazeLicense Code: MRBE9TU7YGK3RQNF
