Phoebe is the Women's Golf and Development Manager at The Metropolitan Golf Club in Melbourne, Australia.This was a super interesting conversation which gave me some ideas of tactics to implement to make golf clubs more inclusive and welcoming to get more women into golf. It can be a tricky proposition running coaching programmes to bring new members into private members clubs but Phoebe has done a fantastic job and there are lots of ideas that can help clubs attract a more diverse group of members to join their clubs.Thoughts and reflectionsGolf clubs are intimidating places for people to arrive at for the first time. Clear signage and great instructions are very important to make people feel comfortable and welcome.Can coaching programmes act as a "trial" for membership for people who are unsure on being able to commit the financial sums required to join great golf clubs.
