Listen "Earnhardt (Documentary Review) "
Episode Synopsis
This 4 part docuseries tells the story of the life and career of one the biggest names in NASCAR, “The Intimidator” Dale Earnhardt Sr. From his troubled beginnings in a small town in North Carolina to his Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 2010. Earnhardt’s racing career spanned over 2 decades from 1975 - 2001. He is one of only 3 drivers to win 7 NASCAR titles. In 1998, he and his wife, Teresa, started his own racing team, Dale Earnhardt Inc., DEI. Unfortunately, his career came to a screeching halt on February 18, 2001. On the final lap of the Daytona 500 race, Earnhardt was killed when he crashed his car on one of the final turns of the race. NASCAR officials took action to prevent accidents like to happen to any other drivers which have still been implemented to this very day. After his death, DEI struggled to continue with new drivers and ultimately folded in 2009. A museum was opened in his honor in Mooresville, North Carolina where his legacy lives on.
