Soy Milk is a canon presented in Norwegian, Swedish, English, German, and Danish. It explores misunderstandings and jokes, translations and neighborly relations – and how one can find a sense of home through conversations with loved ones. Five different translations of the same text are interwoven into a shifting arrangement, where some sentences stand alone while others overlap and mirror each other in kaleidoscopic soundscapes. The piece is based on a 2020 performance work of the same title, with the script published that year as an artist book by Forlaget Aleatorik.

The piece was commissioned by The Lake Radio as part of our Works for Radio 2024 with support from Koda's Cultural Funds and was selected by an international jury consisting of representatives from Seydisfjordur Community Radio (IS) and Retreat Radio (SE).
