To kick off our POTcast, we wanted to share the Smart Pot story, and who better to tell it than our founder, Kurt Reiger. Kurt's father Ralph, started a tree farm in Oklahoma, which gave him the idea to create the below-ground fabric planter which would ultimately lead to the Smart Pot product that invented the above-ground fabric planter category. We talk about the beginnings and struggles that come with inventing a new product in an industry that isn't always high up on trying new things (tree farmers). Also, we'll discuss how the company went from working only with tree farms, to expanding their customer base into other agriculture sectors (home & garden, commercial cannabis, etc).Anyone who's met Kurt knows that he loves telling stories, and we hope you enjoy the first of our 2 part episode!
