Listen "Welcome to The Economic Effect with John E. Silvia"
Episode Synopsis
Welcome to The Economic Effect with John E. Silvia
My goal is to pull from my background as Chief Economist, having worked with several investment firms and served on the Senate Banking Committee, to break down the week in economics. The core theme of this podcast revolves around dynamic economic decision-making, which is also the subject of my first book and an MBA course I taught at Wake Forest University.
I’ll explain how economic decisions, whether in policy or investment, have far-reaching effects and trigger reactions across various sectors. I also discuss how we can think of these decisions as moves in a chess game, where each action leads to a response from other economic agents, like investors or policymakers. Finally, I touch on the importance of understanding the linkages between fiscal policies and their impact on growth, inflation, interest rates, and foreign exchange, while also considering the cognitive biases that influence decision-makers.
This episode sets the stage for a deeper dive into the dynamic relationship between economic decisions and their broader impacts. Tune in weekly for expert analysis!
