In this episode we speak with Beth Carter, the founder of a creative marketing agency named Clariant Creative. Beth is an awesome woman, whose story is one of perseverance and never being afraid to try something new. In fact, that’s exactly how she started her marketing agency. When I asked her if she, as the head of a marketing business, was always interested in marketing she basically said she never once thought about marketing, let alone worked in the field when she was younger! It was after staying at home for a few years to raise her children that she was looking to begin working again and saw a small opportunity to do some copywriting for the local school PTA. Without really knowing the business of copywriting, she dive headfirst and figured it out along the way. She then leveraged that opportunity into another and another and so on until the point she had built up enough skills and client demand over the years to form her own business and hire full time employees. Fast forward to today and Beth has achieved that rare feat of leading a woman owned business that has growing to over $1 million in sales, an accomplishment achieved by less than 2% of women owned businesses. It was that fact about women owners businesses that motivated Beth to crush her goals and inspire others along the way.
