Listen "Acts 8: Storing up Treasures in Heaven and not on Earth"
Episode Synopsis
Cam and I briefly cover chapter 7 before jumping into chapter 8, simply because Acts 7:44-53 talks about worshiping God and to the Temple. Jesus said it himself, "the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit and those who worship him must worship in spite and truth." This ties in with chapter 8, where we see a man named Simon who has a very worldly heart, thinking he can purchase the power of the Holy Spirit, which is not possible and evil to think you can. With that being said, chapter 7 and 8 shows the importance of worshiping God and not the things on earth. Matthew 6:19-21 says, "Do not lap up for yourselves treasures on earth where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
