I had the pleasure of interviewing Max Baca of the Grammy award winning conjunto group Los Texmaniacs this past week. And what a history lesson I got from Max about this special music and tradition. Fresh off the heels of the passing of one of Texas greats, Flaco Jimenez , Max talks about his time playing with Flaco and so many others who heavily influenced his journey. And for the local Texas fans Los Texmaniacs will be performing a unique FREE concert on Friday Sept 5th TUPPS Brewery in my hometown of Mckinney Texas Come experience this danceable repertoire at the heart of early conjunto / old-time polkas, as well as hints of rock, R&B, and country that makes up this tradition of Tejano music.
