Description: A church’s ability to fulfill this calling is dependent on the quality of its leadership. Much of 1 Timothy is devoted to the qualifications and functions of church leaders, but today Paul is clearly speaking to the broader audience of the whole church. This text tells us how we are all to treat the church leaders God has placed in authority over us.  Now these principles have application for every area of life where there are leaders and followers, but the focus of this text is the church’s spiritual shepherds. Local churches, just like nations, families, and businesses rise or fall on their leadership. What makes great leaders? It’s a bunch of great followers.
